A man has been arrested on the Gold Coast after a dramatic two-hour police chase. The man was driving a yellow Porsche Boxter, believed to be stolen, at speed through suburban streets. Police were unwilling to continue the pursuit when it reached excessive speeds and the chase was called off three times. The man drove the Porsche the wrong way up a one-way street later crashing in to a guard rail and damaging the front driver's side wheel. The man continued at high speeds despite the car catching on fire and the wheel eventually dislodging. After crashing the vehicle the man fled on foot before allegedly stealing a second vehicle. He was captured by police after crashing the vehicle near Reedy Creek. __ A dramatic high-speed police chase on the Gold Coast today ended in carnage after an alleged car thief crashed a luxury yellow Porsche and a utility. The 24-year-old male driver from Ashmore allegedly stole the Porsche during a break-in at Mudgeeraba property on August 25. Police pursued the driver on and off for two hours from about 11am today, before he crashed the Porsche Boxter on Golden Valley Drive in Tallebudgera.
