While the Nissan Versa sedan is all-new for the 2012 model year, the hatchback will be continuing on with only a few updates. The venerable five-door subcompact is priced from ,380 and is now available in showrooms nationwide.
The 2012 Versa hatchback is equipped with a 122-horsepower 1.8-liter DOHC four-cylinder engine that helps the car achieve 28 mpg City/34 mpg Highway and 30 mpg Combined when mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT). Models equipped with the 6-speed manual or 4-speed automatic offer 26/31/28 mpg and 24/32/27 mpg respectively.
Aside from its fuel-efficient powertrain, the 2012 model year brings more standard equipment to the Versa. The Versa now features the Premium Package content as standard equipment on the SL model and there are four new packages for the S model – the Convenience Package, 15-inch Aluminum-Alloy Wheel Package, Nissan Navigation Package and a "Special Edition" Package. In addition, Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) is now standard on all Versa hatchback models.
Other standard and available equipment on the Versa hatchback includes available Nissan Intelligent Key, Bluetooth Hands-free Phone System, XM Satellite Radio, and an in-dash 5-inch touch screen navigation system including USB input for iPod and other compatible devices.
