If you're passionate about the cars, and always wanted to be one of those lucky individuals that get to cover the auto industry, Nissan is giving you your chance. The automaker has announced a new contest allowing one Nissan owner to become a “reporter” at the New York International Auto Show (NYIAS) later this month.

The contest will give the winner and a guest the rare opportunity of attending the NYIAS during the show's press days.  Media access will allow the winner to get up-close to new Nissan vehicles and cover the other world reveals at the show. Videos and interviews with Nissan representatives will also be shared via Facebook.

"Nissan is committed to engaging our dedicated fans who contribute to our active Facebook community,” said Erich Marx, Director Social Media & Interactive Marketing. "We believe the New York International Auto Show is a great venue in which to bring an owner to connect with our brand and Nissan's innovative new vehicles then offer them a chance to report back to the community from their own unique perspective."

To enter, interested applicants can visit the “Reporter Contest” tab on the Nissan Facebook page. With the NYIAS just around the corner, applicants only have until 9:00 am EST on Tuesday, April 12th to apply.

New models on display at the Nissan booth will include the 2012 Nissan GT-R, 2011 Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet, and of course the all-electric Nissan Leaf. At the show, Nissan is also expected to unveil an all-new small car — possibly the successor to the current Versa.

If you're passionate about Nissan products and about the automotive industry in general, this may be a unique opportunity. To see official contest details, visit Nissan's Facebook page found at http://www.facebook.com/nissan.
