Nissan has seen tremendous success already this year in the U.S. Not only is Nissan gaining market share, but the automaker just had its best sales month ever in March. But this success is by no means isolated, as Nissan is finding success across the pond as well.

For the 2010 Financial Year ending March, Nissan sold 607,000 vehicles, marking an increase of nearly 100,000 vehicles compared to 2009. Additionally, Nissan also had its best March in Europe, gaining a 3.4 percent market share – its highest annual share since 1994.

One of Nissan's biggest assets in the European market is the all-new Juke crossover. On sale in that market since September, the Juke as already racked up more than 51,000 sales. Nissan now accounts for more than a quarter of all sales within the European crossover segment when taking into account the automaker's other models.

“We have worked extremely hard to out-pace our competitors and establish Nissan as the number one Japanese brand in key markets including the UK, Russia and Spain, and we also achieved record market share in Italy," said Bernard Loire, Vice President Sales Operations, Europe. “First and foremost this has been driven by a focus on bringing exciting and innovative products to the market, but also through the dedication of our dealer network, sales teams and the flexibility and professionalism of our logistics and manufacturing workforce.”

Russia has become Nissan’s biggest European market, followed by the UK and France.
