As cities grow and urban centers expand, automakers are looking to build vehicles that capable of traversing tight spaces. One of Nissan's newest vehicles, the Moco, has been designed specifically for that purpose.
The third-generation Moco, based on the Suzuki MR Wagon, has just hit showrooms in Japan. Promising more style and interior openness than previous generations, the new Moco delivers a high-quality interior with its glossy, piano-black center cluster finisher and an advanced-design AM/FM radio and CD player with touch-panel display.
Despite its small size, the Nissan Moco still has room for a bevy of safety features, including:
- Multi-reflector halogen headlights (manual control) with optimum light distribution
- Electric retractable remote control body-colored door mirrors with integrated LED side turn lamps (Standard on X/X FOUR, G/G FOUR)
- LED High-Mount Stop Lamp
- ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), EBD (Electronic Brake force Distribution) and Brake Assist
- SRS air bag system for driver and front passenger
- 2-stage load limiter equipped double pretensioner seat belt for driver
- 2-stage load limiter equipped pretensioner seat belt for front passenger
- Body construction for pedestrian protection
- Car alarm
- Tire Pressure Warning Light (Standard on G/G FOUR)
Nissan hopes to sell about 4,000 Moco units per month. Unfortunately, Nissan has no plans to sell the Moco minicar in the U.S. yet.
