Nissan has just taken the covers off of the all-new Sunny. This new model will first go on sale in China, followed by sales in 170 countries worldwide.
The Nissan Sunny is the first model to be locally built in China from the new Dongfeng Nissan partnership. The car is intended to appeal to young families that require a medium sized, fuel-efficient sedan. This new model is expected to help establish a foundation for the Nissan brand in the passenger vehicle market in China.
Powering the Sunny is a 1.5-liter HR15DE engine with dual injectors and a new-generation Xtronic CVT with an auxiliary transmission. Nissan projects it will deliver class-leading fuel economy. The Sunny is also expected to provide spirited handling thanks to the use of MacPherson struts up front and a torsion beam for the rear suspension.
The Sunny be priced from around ,500 USD when it goes on sale this month in China. When the model arrives in other markets, it will likely be sold under different vehicle brand names.
